About Industrial Parks Development Corporation

IPDC manages Ethiopia's industrial park ecosystem, 11 Special Economic Zones and 3 industrial parks. In late 2024, the Ethiopian Investment Commission upgraded 10 industrial parks to SEZ status, unlocking enhanced tax incentives and regulatory benefits.

In the 2025 fiscal year, IPDC generated $124M in export earnings and created 48,900 new jobs. Major parks like Bole Lemi, Hawassa, and Jimma lead in export performance. Local investors account for 54% of investments, foreign firms 38%.

IPDC has an ambitious expansion plan: 50+ satellite industrial parks, 5 logistics parks, and 5 additional Special Economic Zones. Companies from China, Japan, Vietnam, the US, UK, and India are investing in sectors from textiles to pharmaceuticals.
